KB050146 | CONVERT THE PROTOCOL FILES (*.ELF) INTO CSV FORM

INF

Product: Elvis
Version: 2.5
Stand: 2007-01-26

Summary

All information in the protocol files are in binary data form. As such the protocol files are protected against manipulation and are space economic. New protocol files are created regularly every 24 hours as well as on starting the process server. When a protocol file becomes larger than 256 Kbytes, a new file is also started. The closed (not opened by the process server) protocol files may be opened by the protocol viewer, viewed and exported as csv-files. If you want to convert all *.elf files into csv form you can do this also via the command line.

Details

The following example converts all logfiles (*elf) of a directory with the aid of a batch file into csv files. Please achieve the following steps:

  • Download the zip-file
  • Extract the batch file in the desired logfile.
  • Open the file to edit it.
  • Adapt the path of the LOGPATH Variable to your directory structure by Set LOGPATH=.
  • Adapt the path of the ELVISLOGVIEWERPATH Variable by Set ELVISLOGVIEWERPATH= to your directory structure.
  • Save the file and achieve it with double-click.

The csv files get applied in the same directory as the *.elf files.
