Summary
Elvis can output arbitrary texts as speech. The texts can be dynamic, e.g. generated in a calculation, event processing or reporting. The prerequisite for speech output is a TTS engine (TTS = TextToSpeech) and at least one language (Language Add-On). All necessary parts can be obtained free of charge via the Internet.

A German speech output is also possible under SAPI 5 (Speech API, version 5). This is useful if SAPI 5 already exists.
By default, the XP operating system works with SAPI5 version. Windows 98 and Windows 2000 have SAPI 4 version by default. If you have problems with the German screen reader and SAPI4 is available, you may be interested in the article INF: Narrator (KB050047) in the Knowledge Base.
To do this, it is necessary to install Microsoft Reader and Microsoft Reader Text-to-Speech.
