Summary
This article describes how to view an AVI file in the operator station.
Details
Play AVIs:
An example is included in ani.idd (Download ani.idd (7 KB) ).
The test AVI file we tested with: count24.zip (17KB))
- Open the file “ani.idd” in the Elvis configuration.
- If necessary, adjust the path to the AVI file in Form_Load in Event Processing.
- In user mode, you can test the AVI.
The ANI.idd uses the Microsoft Animation Control 6.0. If it is not on the system, you can download it here: http://activex.microsoft.com/controls/vb6/MSCOMCT2.CAB
AVI editors:
You can find many AVI editors on the web (we searched for “AVI editor (shareware OR freeware OR free)” on www.google.com).
http://www.virtualdub.org/index looks good at first glance.
There’s also something from Microsoft for free (AVIEDIT), but that’s only suitable for very simple tasks. I’ll include it anyway: aviedit.zip (22 KB).
