Summary
To prevent the user of the Elvis runtime from being irritated by the SQLAnywhere database window and possibly closing it unintentionally, the window can be hidden by adding an addition to the Windows registry.
Details
To do this, start regedit (from the simplest way via Start > Execute). Then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST. INI\Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.0 for Elvis.
There you may already find an entry Start, which contains the path of the database manager rtdsk50.exe.
If this entry does not exist, create it with the context menu > New > String.
Double-click on the entry and enter the path name to the rtdsk50.exe file, followed by ” -Q” (space – minus – capital Q), e.g.
C:\Program Files\Elvis 2.6\rtdsk50.exe -Q
Alternatively, if the process server is installed as a service, you can remove the option “Allow interaction with the desktop” in the properties of the “Elvis Server” service in the Windows Services Manager.
